Tone Academy of Music’s primary goal in our Suzuki Piano instruction is not only to teach young people to play musical instruments, but recognize the unique contribution music can make in the total learning process. Our goal is to include the development of the whole child. In line with their school-day curriculum, the Suzuki Method aims to reach our student’s natural potential to learn with the support of their classroom instructor and parents and caregivers, creating a deep love of music beyond the classroom! Lessons are open to beginners, but students who have had previous piano lessons will be able to smoothly transition to The Suzuki Piano course and continue their progress. The Suzuki Method is based on “Mother-Tongue” learning. Just as children grow up knowing the language spoken to them in infancy, an early guided immersion in music imparts the language of sound. The goal from the very first day is to foster a deep love and appreciation for music. Through positive reinforcement and the constant support of instructors and parents, each child is given the opportunity to explore and grow at their own pace. In the Suzuki Method, children thrive in an environment of total support. Our students develop confidence and self-esteem, determination to try difficult things, self-discipline, and concentration. Caregivers and parents will enjoy watching their children develop rhythmic and melodic awareness, fine motor and memory skills.
Children around 2.5 years old and older are welcome to enroll in afterschool music lessons. The Suzuki Piano class works in conjunction with our in-class music program at TESSA by reinforcing and expanding our students’ musical abilities while introducing them to the joy of playing the piano. Tone Academy is proud to offer 30-minute private lessons at TESSA on Mondays and Wednesdays.
