Born and raised in Ecuador, Angela moved to the United States at the age of 12 and gradually learned English while adjusting to a new environment. She went on to attend New Jersey City University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
Angela chose social work because of her passion for helping others. When she first arrived in the United States, a school social worker played an important role in helping her navigate the transition and made a meaningful difference in her life. That experience inspired Angela to pursue a career where she could offer the same kind of support and encouragement to children facing their own challenges.
During her junior year of college, Angela completed an internship at the NJCU Counseling Center, where she gained valuable experience in mental health. She also completed additional training and earned certifications in Youth Mental Health First Aid and Adult Mental Health First Aid.
With more than two years of experience working with young children, Angela is responsible, patient, and caring. She is passionate about getting to know each child as an individual and finding the best ways to support their needs and well-being.
Outside of school, Angela enjoys painting and baking delicious desserts.
