Originally from Colombia, Magdalena Joya is a bilingual educator bringing more than a decade of experience in international and bilingual schools. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Education and is a fully IB-trained educator with extensive experience implementing the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. She has also furthered her professional development through training in Early Childhood Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Throughout her career, Magdalena has served as both a teacher and educational leader, collaborating with colleagues to design meaningful, inquiry-based learning experiences that support the growth of every child. Guided by the belief that every child's voice matters, she is passionate about creating classrooms where students feel heard, valued, and inspired to become confident, compassionate, and lifelong learners.
This year, Magdalena begins an exciting new chapter by moving to the United States to continue expanding her professional practice within an international learning community. Outside the classroom, she enjoys wandering through forests, exploring art and architecture, and embracing every opportunity to keep learning.
