Big Emotions, Little Bodies:
Understanding How Young Children Communicate Needs, Feelings, and Boundaries
Join Sarah Scanzoni, Tessa International School’s Deputy Head of School for Curriculum & Learning, for a virtual workshop on toddlers communication patterns.
As children grow more independent, verbal, and socially aware, every child is learning how to navigate friendships, express big feelings, and make sense of social interactions. Whether they’re still finding the words to ask for help, learning to set boundaries, or figuring out how to respond when something doesn’t feel right — this stage is full of growth, emotion, and learning.
This workshop is a chance to better understand what’s happening developmentally and how we support children in learning to express their needs safely and respectfully. We’ll also explore how we guide children through moments of frustration or conflict, and how we work together with families to create a safe, connected classroom community.
