Our Mission
We prepare children to be leaders of the 21st century and happy world citizens.
Inspired by her experience raising her son in a multicultural household and seeing firsthand the transformative impact of bilingual education, our founder, Isabelle Bonneau, set out to create a school dedicated to fostering both academic excellence and a global outlook. She aspired to bring the high educational standards she encountered in NYC schools to New Jersey, establishing a community where students could thrive in an enriching, international environment.
We chose the name ‘Tessa’ because it felt warm, inviting, and universal—qualities we want every student to feel here. If I had a daughter, I would have named her Tessa, and I care for this school with the same dedication and warmth that I would bring to raising a child. The name is also easy to pronounce in many languages, making it a truly universal word. And if you look closely, ‘Tessa’ spelled backward is ‘Asset,’ a reminder that each child is a unique asset to our community and to the world. At Tessa, we believe in nurturing that potential every day.

At Tessa, children are introduced to other languages and cultures in order to enhance their cultural awareness; they are bilingual and culturally adaptable.
At Tessa, through understanding and respect, we aim to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring children. We emphasize social emotional development of children in conjunction with strong academic challenge.
At Tessa, we provide a world-class education, based on the most successful international models. Our international educators are given the means to flourish in their profession by sharing, investigating and adapting the education practices worldwide to their classes.
