About Merengue & Bachata:
Merengue and Bachata are lively and rhythmic partner dances that originate from the vibrant culture of the Dominican Republic. These genres developed as a fusion of African, European, and Caribbean influences, creating a unique sound and dance style. Merengue is known for its fast-paced, energetic steps and continuous hip movements, while Bachata is more sensual, with slower, romantic footwork and close partner connection. The music accompanying both dances is captivating, with catchy rhythms that make it impossible to stay still. Merengue and Bachata are all about feeling the beat, enjoying the moment, and connecting with others on the dance floor. They bring joy, fun, and passion to any gathering!
Location: The event takes place in Tessa’s multipurpose room, in the Monroe Center. Go through the Monroe Center’s main door (near Yuki’s Bakery) and find us on the second floor. We can’t wait to see you there!
