French Immersion Program
Programme Français
The French Program and IB PYP
Aligned with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme framework (IB PYP), we follow the official French curriculum. Our maternelle program (preschool through kindergarten) is accredited by the French Ministry of Education, and we are in the process of seeking homologation for our primary classes (Grades 1 to 5).
The French school system abroad (AEFE) network is made up of 580 educational establishments with almost 392,000 students from nursery school to the end of secondary school in 139 countries.
The French official program is recognized for its rigorous academic standards and in-depth theoretical knowledge. Canadian and American universities often grant college credit to French Baccalaureate holders based on their academic performance.
Tessa International School stands out as one of the few institutions in the New Jersey/New York City area that offers both the official French Program and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). This unique combination opens doors to numerous schools in the U.S., France, and around the world, facilitating a seamless transition to institutions that follow the same programs. The IB framework not only fosters academic excellence but also develops skills that extend far beyond the classroom, shaping adaptable citizens who are well-prepared to thrive in any school system. This holistic approach equips students with critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills essential for success in diverse environments.
