Clara Cui
Assistant Teacher
Clara is a multilingual educator from China with a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Cultural Studies and more than 20 years of experience teaching Japanese at the university level. She is a native speaker of Chinese and Korean and has advanced proficiency in Japanese, with extensive experience in East Asian languages, cultures, curriculum design, and student-centered teaching.
Before joining Tessa, Clara taught Japanese to undergraduate students at a university in China, where she designed curricula and learning materials and supported students with different learning levels. She also taught Chinese in after-school programs in Japan, creating engaging lessons for children and helping them develop practical communication skills and an appreciation for Chinese culture.
Clara first joined the Tessa community during Summer Camp, where she enjoyed working with children and creating engaging learning experiences. She is excited to continue her journey at Tessa during the school year, bringing her passion for languages and cultures to the classroom and helping students build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
